A neck lift surgery is similar to a face lift but involves tightening the skin below the jaw line and is often performed in conjunction with a face lift. Neck lift surgery smoothes out age lines and tightens up any sagginess or “turkey neck” that is common with aging.

Neck lift surgery generally takes a few hours to perform, so you will be placed under local anesthesia with intravenous sedation medication. A small incision will be made behind the ear and another smaller one may be made under the chin as well. Midline neck muscles will be tightened, excess fat deposits will be removed, and your neck will take on a whole new appearance.

Stitches will be removed around a week after the procedure and you will be advised not to engage in any strenuous activities for approximately 3 weeks. Patients can generally return to desk work within a week after neck lift surgery.
